Our Story

Modern Komfort started the way many great ideas do, around a backyard dinner table. In the summer of 2012, as two friends and new homeowners, we (Helen and Anna) found ourselves on the same search: for stylish, well-made, Canadian furniture that felt right for our homes, and came up short.

Once we discovered a line we loved, which happened to be a Canadian made upholstery line, ideas weaved together, and we continued to build momentum. We started small, selling to friends and neighbours in our local communities. Two years later, we launched our first online store, built from the ground up at our kitchen tables, and began reaching customers across the country. What started as a side project quickly became our full-time passion.
